Introducing Stage 2 drama group…
Stage 2 drama started out in 2001 and have been going strong ever since! We are an amdram theatre group based in Berrow, Burnham on Sea but drawing members from all the surrounding district. Join us on stage or behind the scenes. New members are ALWAYS welcome! You don’t have to be from Berrow to join! While the core membership is from Berrow or Burnham, we have people from Bristol and further afield who have acted with us and enjoyed being part of our friendly group.
We usually perform 2 plays each year. The plays are usually comedy or farce. Novices and experienced actors can be assured of a warm welcome and help and support whenever needed. Both stage 2 drama group and our audiences like to see new faces! If you prefer to remain in the background there are plenty of ways that you can get involved backstage. For rehearsals and performance we use Berrow Village Hall which has flexible facilities, and for performances, we usually lay on a licensed bar so that our audience can enjoy a glass of wine, beer or soft drink during the show and in the interval.
As a group we have a good social life which includes going out see other theatre groups, shows, gigs any other excuse we can find to enjoy life!
We currently meet on Tuesday evenings at 7.30pm in Berrow Village Hall and some Sundays from 7pm, where we read / rehearse for 2 hours with a refreshment break mid-rehearsal and social get together, for those inclined, in the pub afterwards. We do not hold formal auditions or anything scary like that so why not give it a try? We are actively seeking new members interested in Performing or in joining our backstage / technical team. No need to make an appointment, just come along and listen / join in / have a laugh.
Currently annual membership costs £10. You are very welcome to come along for a free meeting to see if you like us before deciding whether to join.
